Default Marriage Visitor Visa : Financial requirements

Hi !

I was refused a marriage visitor visa on the 11th July because I haven't enough funds in my bank account.

I declared in the application form that I'll have 800 pounds available for my stay in the uk from the 31/07 till the 31/08. This money was actually the cash my parents planned to give me as wedding gift before travelling at the end of July. In addition to the fact that, thanks to my July salary and an annual bonus being transferred from my company I'll have other 1000 pounds available for my trip. That's why in the 06 months bank statements I joined when applying in June, all this money wasn’t already available in my bank account. After this refusal, my parents gave me the equivalent of 1500 pounds in cash which I put in my bank accounts on the 12th July and I reapplied for a marriage visitor visa on the 16th July.

I would like to know if the ECO can refuse entry clearance because the 1500 pounds were available in my bank account s only 04 days before applying for the visa for the 2nd time ?

Did you demonstrate where the funds came from when you applied the second time?

Your parents should have put into writing that they gave you this money.

Good morning,

Thank you for your reply,
Does that mean that the absence of written explanation from parents leads automatically to a refusal ?
Actually, I also joined a letter from my fiancé saying that he'll be my sponsor. We also joined his bank statements, payslips, working contract,.....
In addition, we also joined all necessary documents to prove that we will be accommodated during this month by his parents in a big 6 bedrooms house they own.
All this evidence aren't enough to meet the financial and accommodation requirements ?

While they may query the source of your funds, if there is sufficient sponsorship from your fiancé, duly evidenced, that alone should be sufficient, but it depends on the details.

Hi everybody,

I just wanted to say that, after 03 weeks and not 02 weeks of processing time as usually needed for short term visa, I was finally granted the 06 months marriage visitor visa ! We gave notice in august but, having to come back to Tunisia before the 2nd september, we had to reschedule the civil ceremony for november.
Many thanks for this website so helpful to deal with this administrative labyrinth.

Default fund requirements and letter from employer

I have filled out the online marriage visitor visa application, and I made a biometric appointment. I have a couple of quick questions....

What do I need to bring to the appointment besides the visa application, receipt of biometric appointment, passport, and passport sized photos?

After the appointment, when I all my paperwork, do I just need to have a few bank statements confirming I have enough funds for my time in London? Also, do I need a letter from my employer stating that I have no intent of leaving the US permanently?

The total contents of my submission will be....
application
biometric info
provisional bookings to get married
bank statements and letter from employer
flight plans
passport
2 passport photos

Is this correct?
Thanks in advance

Ethan
