Default Moving back to UK with Argentine wife

Hello,
Just hoping that someone can help me with this query. Sorry in advance if its a bit long winded.

I'm a UK citizen who has been living in Argentina for the last 3 years. I married my Argentine wife in 2011 in Buenos Aires.

Our plan is to come to back to the UK at the end of August. We will then spend 17 days in the UK before flying out to travel around Asia for 84 days.

We will return back to the UK from Asia at the start of December and I then plan to look for a job that pays over 18,600. My parents will support us in their house until my wife has to go back to Argentina at the end of the 6 month visitor period. My wife has been to the UK twice before and each time complied with the conditions of entry on a 6 month tourist/visitor stamp.

So my questions are:
1 - Will the immigration officer let my wife into the UK on a 6 month tourist/visitor stamp at the end of August 2013 if she has a return ticket to Buenos Aires going back in May 2014 (9 months later)? We will have the tickets on us to show that we are leaving the UK for the trip around Asia 17 days later.

2 - Will she get another 6 month tourist stamp from the immigration officer when we arrive back in the UK from Asia at the start of December? I'm calculating 17 days in UK Aug/Sept and 163 days from Dec to May (180 days in total) before she has to go back to Argentina. Is this right?

3 - Is she allowed to stay in the UK on a visitor/tourist stamp while I look for a job? I'm resigned to the fact that she will have to return to Argentina when the visitor/tourist stamp comes to an end and that we will have to spend some time apart before she can apply for a spouse visa as I've read that I will need to earn 18,600 for 6 months.

Thanks for reading all that and any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Well, as she isn't a visa national, all being well she will be stamped with 6-month leave when she first arrives in August. It expires the moment she leaves UK for Asia and she will have to request a new stamp on her return. It's up to the immigration officer whether to grant her fresh leave. If you show supporting evidence including return ticket home, financial sponsorship and reasons for returning (to apply for settlement visa when ready), she has a chance but denied entry cannot entirely be ruled out.

Yes, if she manages to get another leave to enter in December.

I think to minimise any inconvenience and uncertainty, she should apply for a visit visa valid one year (but only allows 180 days in UK) in advance at the British embassy in Argentina.

Thanks, Joppa. I think I'll take your advice and head down to the embassy to get a visa. Better safe than sorry!
