Default email from Home office or UKVI to upload picture

Hi All,
Has anyone received an email from Home office or UKVI or UKVCAS to upload face pictures? I saw some posts that stated that UKVI will re-use old biometric for some applicants. These applicants will have an option to upload pictures. I am just trying to find the email address of the sender and if someone has gone through this process, please share your experience.
Thanks

The email about reusing old biometrics was from the UKVI (Home Office). They said that they would contact (email) again in about 2 weeks time, to advise how to take and upload the photographs (which we are now waiting for them to do).

Found some info on UKVCAS site in the following website

https://www.ukvcas.co.uk/flash-messa...essageId=74833

the following stated ..

".....

UKVI is changing the way it processes applications in response to COVID-19 (see here). This new way of working involves reusing biometrics (fingerprints) that have been recorded in a previous application as part of the process to verify your identity. This will mean that some customers will not need to attend a Service Point.

UKVI are currently working to identify those customers that are eligible to use this new approach.

If you are likely to be eligible for this new process, UKVI has asked us not to invite you for an appointment. If you are one of these cases we will let you know by email – look out for the subject line ‘COVID-19: Update as a result of new UKVI Policy’.

...."

I guess this answers one of my questions. Looks like UKVCAS will be sending the email with that subject line ....

It would be good to know if/when someone receives such an email.
Thanks

Hi RichJohn,
Can you please share the date you submitted your application? And the date you submitted your uploaded documents to UKVI?
Just trying to figure out how long is their backlog.
Thanks

To give you an idea, I applied online on 28 March, and received the email about the re-use of fingerprints and photo upload on 3 July.

We submitted (my wife's) online application on 2nd April, uploaded the scanned documents over the following week or so, then heard nothing until about 2 weeks ago (early July), when the email came saying that they would be utilising the previous biometric details and would email in a couple more weeks with info about how to take and upload a digital photo. (Still waiting on that part).

It was only yesterday that I spotted that we could now "submit" the uploaded documents onwards from UKVCAS to UKVI, ourselves, which we did last night. They been "sat there" for about 3 months. I suspect the facility for the applicant to submit to UKVI had only just been made available.
