Default ILR-to do now standard or wait to see if priority service reopens?

Hi all

I am after some advice. My husband's visa runs out in August and he will be applying for ILR.

He can apply from now as it has passed his 5 year anniversary in the country.

We always apply using the priority service however I am aware this is not an option currently. I would really rather have a quicker answer (as I'm sure most of us would) so I was thinking of biding my time to see if the priority service reopens.

What are others doing in this situation? Are they just applying as the sooner you apply I suppose the sooner you get an answer or waiting to see if the priority service opens?

Also if we have to apply using the standard service and it takes over 6 months his visa will run out. How will that affect his work?

Thank you in advance for any advice. I used to visit this forum regularly when applying for his previous Visas and the guidance I received was invaluable.

During the time the ILR is being processed, everything remains the same - he can work as before, but he can’t travel abroad, this in effect withdraws the application.

I would wait until Aug and see if if premium is available again.

My mrs visa expires mid June, and I am holding as long as I can to see if they reopen.

I spoke with the Home Office and processing time for standard is still estimated at 6 months, but they have no idea when they may reopen, and it must be difficult with countries no in different stages and rules of easing restrictions. My visa also expires in August, I may take the risk in June and send it in. If I had done this when my five year hit in March I would be well into the processing already. They are still working remotely in this time.
