Default 180 days out of country for ILR

I am a US citizen on a spouse visa in the UK since April 2015. I'll apply for ILR this summer.
I travel often for work and recently read of the change passed in Jan 2018 - a rule of 180 days out of country within any 12 consecutive 12 month period disqualifies you from eligibility for ILR.
I can't find out though if this is applicable to all visa types when applying for ILR or just some types of visas ( I read somewhere it is NA to family routes).
I don't think I surpass the 180 days, it looks like 130 is the most I have been out of country in any 12 month configuration but I am still concerned about it. I understand the departure and return date are counted as days in country. All travel has been for work (35 days at most at one time) or holiday.

I know that I can't qualify for citizenship yet because of my absences but appreciate any inform on this rule for ILR only.

Many thanks.

This has come up from other posters, with the reply being that it doesn't apply to family route types (FLR-M).
The online form will only ask you to list absences above 14 days. (well, in December it did!)
