Exclamation Tier 4 to Tier 5 - applying from UK?

Hello

A friend of mine is from New Zealand living in London on a Tier 4 Student Visa which expires in March. She wants to transfer onto the Tier 5 Youth Mobility visa but is unsure if she needs to return to NZ to apply, or whether she apply from within the UK.

There is a lot of contradictory information out there and she can't really afford the trip home so any advice would be very much appreciated!

Thank you

They can submit a Tier 5 application from any country with a diplomatic post (not necessarily their country of legal residence), but they cannot switch from within the UK.

Unfortunately no.

The good news is that Tier 5 YMV is way easier to get than the Tier 4 student. so there's that.
