Exclamation Travel 2 weeks before visa expiry

Hi there

I read through some previous questions on the same topic but wanted to check if there have been any updated rules to travel just prior to a new visa application.

My unmarried partner visa expires on Feb 1st 2020 and I am planning on travelling home to Australia to see family over Christmas, returning around January 15th (two weeks prior to expiry). I am planning on applying the days after I return home (and will have all documentation ready before my travels).

I read that it would be wise to take confirmation of my FLR appointment however I am not planning on applying until I am back in the UK. Do you think there will be issues returning if I don't have an appointment confirmation?

Many thanks in advance

If your visa is still valid when you return then you should have no problems re-entering.

My brother in-law did just this only a month or so ago and had no problems at the border. His visa was due to expiry within the next couple of weeks. As above said, from a logical point of view, it makes sense that you shouldn't encounter any issues.
