Default ILR Set (O) and FLR(M) Visa

Hi

I am a little confused, and can not seem to find any information re a couple applying for two different visa types. I have been in the UK for 5 years, I am now applying for my ILR. My husband however has only been in the UK for 2.6 years. As I believe he has to apply for a Further leave to remain visa. The thing is, both our visa's expire on the 24 November 2019. I am not worried about my visa, I am however worried about his visa. His visa stipulates he can apply only if he is married to a settled person or British Citizen. I technically have not reached any of these status as yet. So now, how do we go about doing this? Do I submit his application the same time as my application with a note saying that I am in the process of receiving my ILR grant?

Also, I have a question about the upload of documents to the online application system. When can you upload the documents, will it give you an option to upload after you pay, or will this function happen before you pay?

Thank you for your advice and information.

What visa are you currently on?
What visa is your husband currently on?
When and where did you get married?

I am on an Ancestry visa, my husband is on an ancestry dependants visa. Basically piggy backing off my visa. We were told he must go on a further leave to remain visa. We were married in South Africa a year before we decided to immigrate 2014.
