Default ILR payment & booking

Hi All,

Iím a US citizen getting ready for ILR and have a question I was wondering if anybody knew, the date Iím applying is 20-Sept (card expires 14-Oct) and have the online application ready up to the point I pay 3,208.20 but I was wondering, do I pay that now and after that screen is that where I book the next appointment?

Thanks in advance as always,

That's correct. After you pay, you will be prompted to make an appointment with Sopra
Steria to take your biometrics (photo and fingerprints). At that appointment they will make sure you have put your downloads in the proper categories.

Don't forget to bring your US Passport because they will scan a few pages of it that have some kind of encryption on them. I would also bring the original documentation just in
case there was an issue with your scans/downloads.

The fee you have mentioned includes a decision within 24 hours. I had an email with 5 hours on the same day. Good Luck-

I have a quick question. I am also going to apply in November 1ST week. I have filled in most of my form. But can i submit and pay the fee NOW or in November? If i do that now, will that be considered the DATE OF Application?

Thanks
And sorry for asking my doubt too.

You are correct: the date of your application is when you pay. I started filling out my application online well in advance, saved and reviewed my work so my account wasn't deactivated and applied 28 days before the anniversary of my arrival in the UK on my spouse visa. Remember to make sure your financials are no older than 28 days before you pay for your application.

After reading these posts I think we need to pay roughly beginning of October earliest for a visa that is valid until end of October, if I was waiting for a bank statement through the post for around 7 Oct would I need to wait til after receiving the statement before I can pay and book the appointment. What would happen if I waited til say 14th of the month and paid but couldnít get an appointment til in November

There are plenty of appointments. If you can't find one near you just travel further.

Outstanding! Hope mine goes off like that. Paid for the 1 day decision, or should I say, my employer did as I need my passport to work. My appointment is Tuesday and I can't wait for this to be done with.
