Default Wife and children apply for citizenship - family application?

Hi all,

Wonder if anyone can help with some experience of applying for naturalisation with children?

My wife and two children (under 18 although daughter is 18 end of next month) have always applied together, and last week were given ILR status (yay!).

Now we want to get on with citizenship (under 5 year route) and as she is married to me a british citizen can apply now.

I notice on the main page to apply it notes:

Quote:
Apply for your children
You must apply separately for your children - you cannot include them in your own application.

You can apply to ‘register’ your child for citizenship if they were born either:

outside of the UK
inside the UK before you were granted indefinite leave to remain
Read the guidance to check you can apply.

How much it costs
It costs £1,012 to apply for each child.

You must also pay £80 for your child’s citizenship ceremony if they turn 18 during the application process.
Ok so i have to do three applications, annoying but not end of the world.

I read the guidance notes however and it reads:

Quote:
Children born abroad to parents who are applying for British
citizenship
Where one or both parents are applying for British citizenship they may apply for
one or more children who are not automatically British at birth (see “Automatic
acquisition of British citizenship” above) to be registered as British citizens as part of
a “family application”. Children in this category will be considered at the Home
Secretary’s discretion and will usually be registered only if both the parents are
granted or already hold British citizenship, or if one parent holds British citizenship
and the other is settled in the UK.
I cant seem to find a link for this family application....does anyone have any experience on this taht can advise?

Ed

I dont know why im so stumped with this one. I have just filled out the mothers side of the application no issues - but it gives me options to add the kids on...but not sure if it is the right place?

All applicants

If you are making an application with other people, such as a family member or dependant, you can add them here. You can either add each applicant to this page first before filling in their details (including your own) or you can fill in all the details for one applicant first and then add others.

Consideration under British Nationality Act

Choose which category to apply under. You are a child under 18 and: (Required)
You were born in the UK
You were born outside the UK
Settled status in UK

Quote:
Have you had settlement in the UK? (Required)

Yes

No
Quote:
Are either of the parents of the child (as stated in this application) applying for naturalisation as a British citizen on an AN form? (Required)

Yes

No
The mother is applying, but not sure its not an an AN form?

Is there anyone out there who has been through this with children going through spouse, FLR and ILR route and now want them to gain citizenship with their parent?
