Default Minimum days in UK

Hi all, my wife is now in the UK on a spouse visa, she has ‘leave to enter’ on this 30 month visa. I have been offered and now taken a job outside the UK... we are aiming to try and spend 6 months per year inside Uk, will this be enough to qualify for the next step towards citizenship for her? Can anyone advise?

No... if you only live 6 months in every year until your wife would be normally eligible for citizenship, she won't qualify.

Right, she needs to make her home in the UK for a full 5 years. She applied for a spouse visa stating the intention to live permanently in the UK. If you've decided to move to another country as your normal residence, she will never qualify for settlement, let alone citizenship. This doesn't invalidate her current 30-month visa, but she will have to start the spouse visa process over if you decide to move back and make the UK your normal home again.
