Default Changing employer whilst a SET(M) application is being considered

Hi all, sorry for another question

So my wife has been with her employer since 2015 and we are applying for her SET(M) with tomorrow being the biometrics date. We are relying on her salary + savings for the financial requirement and this is fine.

However she would very much like to apply/seek a different position in a different company over the 6 months that her SET(M) will be considered.

What is the official stance on this? Can she change job okay whilst the processing of her SET(M)? If the Home Office phone her current employer to check employment status, and she has since left, would they be overly concerned or are they only concerned about verifying the employment at the time of application and the truth of the details supplied in the employment letter at the time of application?

Thanks

Avoid changing employers at all costs until after ILR is granted. If they do employment verification checks and she isn't still employed, it will cost her the application.

Thanks clever-octopus (again!). That's so disappointing as whilst she has got all the evidence with no problem, she is desperate for a change and we can't change to a priority application anymore at this stage.

Would it be possible, once everything is submitted and we have the case number, to contact the case worker somehow to enquire with them if applying for another job would invalidate the evidence/application and seeing what they say? Or is it a hard-fast rule that you just can't change jobs whilst this is all happening?

The UKVI helpline stated it shouldnt affect the application as it should be based on the date of application only and the evidence at that point, but honestly I trust your advice and others here just as much if not more!

Thank you
