Default ILR/requesting docs back

Hiya,

It's been almost 4 months since my application. As expected, no decision yet.

At the moment of my application new submission service was only introduced and wasn't exactly clear. During the payment process, I thought I will be making a choice later on but it straight took me to 2389 option. So I ended up submitting my own passport, residence permit and husband's passport to the HO.

Now the question is whether it is ok to ask them to send husband's passport back and my passport or residence permit (surely there was enough time for them to see the originals) or is it not reasonable and I'd rather wait. There is serious urgency as such but husband has an annual across Europe charity ride at the end of June organised by his employer. I don't really him to miss out for the event he looks forward to every year.

As for my document, there will be presidential elections for my country in June where I would like to use my vote.

If there is a chance to request, what the procedure is. Ta.

You cannot travel abroad whilst you are waiting for a decision, also there was no need to send your husband's passport, a copy would have been fine.
It's the applications original passport HO need to see.

You can request the documents back. But the other poster is right, there was no need for your husband to send his original passport.

When filling in the form, make sure you select the option that you are NOT withdrawing your application. They will tell you if it will be possible or not
