Did you file super priority or regular? If its regular they will get a hold of you when they get a hold of you. If its super priority then I'd be on the phone bitching. You have to remember there are thousands of people filing application as well as you everyday. Plus with Brexit looming I was guessing they'd be busier than usual which is why I opted to pay the extra 610 pounds to just have it over an done with.

Sorry to hear that, I filed on the 6th, I had my appointment on the 15th, had my answer on the 16th. I made sure I filed before the 8th because there was no way I was giving them a 1000 pounds for that joke they call healthcare over here. its an absolute sham system of healthcare over here. I've payed for everything I've had done over here privately because I they have ruled out anything I needed done on the NHS as low priority no funding. :P

I am sorry you have not had a good experience with the NHS. It must be very discouraging to learn that treatment you need is only available privately. However, I have to balance your statement 'absolute sham system of healthcare over here' as other applicants may feel afraid to come here. Since returning to the UK nearly five years again, my husband and I have had the most impressive healthcare under the NHS, both at the GP and consultant level. Maybe it depends on the area and / or the condition but I do not think one should generalise.

Hi LMH71

I am really sorry that you didn’t receive good service from the NHS too

We’ve had a mixed bag. Some of it may be the hospital you were at. A lot are understaffed and staff are fed up of long shifts and bureaucracy

My Dad was a surgeon for the NHS in the late 1970s to 1990s. In his days, he did 24 to 48 hour shifts and knew every patient he saw by name. We hardly saw him growing up.

One of the reasons we left the UK in the 1990s was that he was saddened by the long waiting queues for surgery where elderly people would die as waiting times were long. He got a better opportunity where he could spend time with his family

I had wonderful care under the NHS while having my baby. Post natal was awful because of nursing shortages

My father-in-law and nephew couldn’t receive the best care because of funding cuts. Both passed away in the last year
