Default New York Scanning Hub

Hi,

We're applying from the US for a spouse visa and have been advised to send the documents to the New York scanning hub instead of the old method which was to send all original documents to Sheffield. Is it still a requirement to send a pack of copies along with the originals. I assume the scanning hub's purpose is to make these copies so this is possibly redundant now.

Cant seem to find any guidance online! Thanks so much!

Hi IJAB2019,
Apologies for asking on this thread, as I don't have any advice on the scanning hub beyond the fact that I also sent my documents to the New York Scanning Hub as opposed to directly to Sheffield and am hoping it was the right thing.
I noticed in the timeline forum that your application dates were similar to mine (I came to this thread as that one doesn't like questions posted) and was wondering if you could answer a question for me? You noted that your documents arrived in Sheffield on 30 January; did the email updating you come from UKVI, or from another source? I'm still waiting to hear if mine have arrived and am starting to get quite nervous...
Thanks so much!
Cheers,
Jackie

Hi, Jackie! Sorry. Only just saw your post now. The email I received was from the UKVI stating that my case was being prepared for an ECO in Sheffield. You should receive one after sending to New York but I saw a lot of cases where many people never received this email unfortunately.

Have you received anything yet? I marked "priority" all over mine in big letters. This visa limbo is terrible! I hope you hear back soon!

Thanks for the response! Although I did write "priority" on mine in big letters on both sides, I'm now worried it wasn't enough... but it does also sound like a few people never get their ECO email, so I'm kind of hoping I'm one of those and that they're considering it without my awareness (my packet arrived at the New York hub on 18 January with no word... ugh).

Have you had any further updates on your progress? I'm hoping you have by now - best of luck with it! What a stressful process... you'd think I'd be used to it, but nope; always tricky. Though UKVI is so much worse at communicating than Australia ever was!

Thanks again for the info!

Jackie

I'm so sorry. That's horrendous. I really hope you hear back soon!

I haven't heard back since the email that it was being considered by an ECO but from what I see on here and another forum, a lot of the time when you don't receive the email, it's usually still back within the 30 days but it seems like we all have to send 30 day follow ups for the most part. :/
