Default Software Tester under 189 (Software Engineer) - Skill or RPL

Hi,

I have done B.E (Computer Science & Engineering ) and a professional software tester (Automation + Manual) with 9 years of experience.

I want to apply for Australian PR under 189 category under 'Software Engineer' occupation because my skills includes experience in coding using scripting languages as well.

1. Can I apply for ACS with this ?
2. Should I apply for Skill or RPL ??

Many thanks for your help in advance :-)

1. This will depend entirely on your work experience (demonstrated by adequate reference letters) showing that you performed the role of a software engineer, based on the expected roles and responsibilities given for that ANZSCO code.

2. A successful RPL will result in 6 years of work experience being used to consider you skilled, versus 2 or 4 years for a successful undergraduate skill assessment. It is up to you which you want to apply for (only the ACS will be able to ascertain the equivalency of your degree).

It's up to the ACS to determine whether or not the syllabus matches their requisites for an undergraduate degree with a major or minor ICT component.

Thank you all, Is it must for me to submit the application with RPL report or can I submit with simple Skill type ?
Or its to be submitted when ACS needs it ?
