hi can anyone help me.
i'm a qualified painter and decorator (22 years) who is now seriously thinking about moving his family (the missus + 2 kids) to australia. I have a very good friend who has lived there for 8 years who has a job in my trade waiting for me. i don't have alot of financial backing.
I don't think i have a hope in hell of achieving our dream but my mate in australia keeps telling me to go for it.
just need some help in pointing me in the right direction. getting a headache reading loads of websites and don't seem no wiser.

Hi,

Welcome to the forum.

Have you tried reading the sticky posts at the top of the forum? The one that says 'Thinking of emigrating' may be a help since it has a link to the visa wizard which will show you which common visas you can get.

Regards,
Karen

Although you mention you don't have much financial backing, I think it's wise to spend money on an agent, if you really want to do it and get it right (without any false starts chasing after the wrong visa type), it's best to ask a specialist. We used 1st Contact in London and can recommend them, lots of useful info on their website too.

There'll be a load of documentation to wade through, but I'm sure it'll be worth it!

Good luck!
