Default retiring to oz, is it possible

Hi all, just a quick question from anyone in the know may be able to answer, i am 48 and an ex soldier [of 16 years] and now a retired police officer of 10+ years, my wife is 44 and also i retired police officer, we are both on full police pensions, which leaves us in the position of a decent ish income and not having to work here in the uk unless we want to, we have 2 daughters of 8 and 9, is it possible to come over and retire in oz having our own income from the police, or is it a case of having to be qualified in certain areas to obtain a job/visa, from my point of view, which well could be wrong, we would not be taking anything from the state so to speak and only putting in to the system, im not saying that we wouldnt work, its just we are fortunate to be able not to at the moment, we also have an amount of savings and own our own house, this is my first enquiry and before we start making any other thoughts on the subject, i was just seeing if we had a chance of emergrating to oz
thanks hammie

Hi Hammie,

Welcome to the forum.

Take a look at the stickies at the top of this forum - especially thinking of emigrating. It has a visa wizard link and that will tell you what visas you are eligible for once you fill in the details. It does the most common visas.

Regards,
Karen

Most visas are skill based and as you are retired you wouldn't be eligible for those anymore. The main visa I can see in your situation is Retired Investor Visa. This starts out as a temporary visa and later I believe you can apply for a permanent visa as the second visa. However they do have some very high funds requirements (savings/investment).

You need to check those out at the Immi website.
