Default Roofers (Re:Tra)

Hi,

We are about to apply for my husbands 'Tra' & it appears that you may need formal training, apprenticeship or vocational traineeship!

My husband learnt his trade from an old boss that he used to work for, approx 10 years ago, he now owns his own successfull business, but im really worried that this isnt going to count.

We hadnt even been aware of this, we just went along thinking, its Ok they need roof tilers/slaters in Australia, now we are worried!

I'd love to hear from anyone with advice, or anyone that has been in a similair situation?

Kelly.

I have spent all day researching this & have now found my answer! (For anyone that may be interested)

The Tra took off 'Pathway D' last September 07...

They are now looking at putting it back on, but it may have new guidelines (probably alot tougher than before) This is due 1st August 08...(see Go Matilda - Your Gateway to Australia - News)

So I guess we are gonna have to wait until then

Kelly.
