Default State Primary Schools

Hi everyone I hope someone can help me...

We are in the processed of negiotating a job offer (not sure what type of visa will be) but am I correct in saying that we would have to pay for state primary schools. I was under the impression that you only paid for schooling if you went private and i have not added this to our cost of livings and as you can imagine and slightly worried now... Any information would be greatly appreciated....

Hi:

You pay if you are on a temp visa (i.e. 457) but not if you are on a PR visa.

Knowing someone who has paid for his two schoolage boys it was about $10k per year in Sydney.

Just another cost to living in australia, starting to wonder if this dream will ever happen.... Thank you so much for your reply.

Wonder if we have to pay school fees for a child if we are there for postgraduate studies in other states, i.e. South Australia or Melbourne. Could anyone help please.

Yes, it's a national standard.More information at this page:
Postgraduate Research Sector: Temporary Visa (Subclass 574) - Assessment Level 2

You do need to pay fees per child.

Thanks. This will definetely let us re-consider our decision on bringing the whole family for further studies.

Refer to "You pay if you are on a temp visa (i.e. 457) but not if you are on a PR visa."
What about those are on provisional visa (i..e 475), are thier children need to pay for fees as well? Not sure if this is true as heard from an agent mentioned before that ONLY South Australia is giving free education if one is on 475 (provisional visa). Any idea please?
