Default Question about Partner on Student Visa regarding work.

Hi,

I did search, but did not find anything on this.

I will be getting a student visa for 2 years and my partner will be attached to that. This will only allow him to also work 20 hours per week as well though.

How can he get around this? Is there a way for him to be able to work full time?

How easy is it once there for him to get his employer (he will not have an issue finding a job there) to sponsor him for a regular visa?

Any suggestions or tips?

Thanks,
Babs

My friend is in Oz right now via this method, from what he said (he was the secondary applicant), the only thing he could do was get an employer to sponsor him to stay. He did find it difficult to get employment at first, due to the fact he could only work for 20hrs, but after a couple of months of persistance, he did find an employer willing to sponsor him, and is now successfully working as a resident.

That is good news. Do you know if it was difficult for him to get the employer to do this? I know that to get a migration visa can take up to 3 years sometimes and has the point system and age tagged to it - I am hoping/assuming these do not come into play. As long as he can find someone there to sponsor him, he is ok - right?
