Default IELTS test

Hi, i have a question regarding the IELTS test results.
I wrote the test 2 weeks ago and received my results today.

However, although my results were not bad, they do not give me the necessary 25 points for the points test.

What happens if I re-take the test and my next score is lower than the current?
Will the old (better) score still be valid.
I would appreciate it if someone which experienced the same could make a comment.

Thanks.

Hi there,

If you were to take the test again and get a lower score it wouldn't really matter about the validity of the first test as it wasn't enough for you to get the points anyway. If you need those points you will have to get a better result. I know people who have persevered and after taking the test 3 times they got the results they were after.

But to answer your question, it doesn't matter which way round you do get your results, as long as you get the results that are required.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Dolly
