Default Apple Mac Computer Question

I bought a Mac in Canada and since we are moving to Australia in September I am wondering if I will be able to use it with just an adapter? I have a friend in Canada who can't use her Australin PC computer in Canada yet and wondering if it is just her PC and not an issue with Apple computers!!

Thanks,
jenn

Most computers are universal voltage.

There are two ways to know:
1. Look at the power adapter and the sticker on it. If you see: 100~240V/50-60Hz then it's universal and you just need to get the appropriate plug ($10). You can call Apple with your model number to find out if it's universal voltage or search around for the specifications on the Apple website.

2. Don't know about MACs, but on PCs around the plug for the power on the main box there is usually a switch (often orange colored) which you can switch from 110V to 240V. I think your friend with her AU PC should check for that as these type of power supplies have been built into all computers for years.

Here is an image for you:

Look on the right for the orange switch (usually has 110 and 240 written on it.
