Default Medical Requirement for Partner Visa

I've recently lodged a partner visa application, I am a British citizen resident with my Australian husband in the UK. Should I go ahead and get my medical done?

Australia House was not willing to advise me on this and told me to wait for instruction from a Case Officer - still nothing from the CO and we need to be in Oz urgently as we have a terminally ill relative awaiting our arrival

Thanks, Mrs Boss.

I understood that it was fine to get meds done before, the only negative is if the application is denied because of some unforseen they could expire or leave a short time to have the visa activated.

Usually a CO is assigned in a short time and will soon email asking for the extra papers they need, so getting PCC and meds started can cut down on the time needed especially if you are trying to avoid delays.

We sent our application first as it gets things started, but ymmv

good luck

Hi there,

Welcome to the forum.

Yep, I'd go ahead and get them done. It will quicken up the process for you. I guess you will have to do a police check to?

Hi,

Do your medicals, do your Police checks, do everything.
You will gain time.
Lots of it.
I did it and it was fantastic.
In fact the results weren't there when we got our officer and she did contact us to ask for them and they were on their way.

Send you application as complete as possible, you might get your visa VERY soon.
We had our in 2 months, but most of that time was spent waiting for document from hubby from Australia, we could have had ours much sooner.

Good Luck!!!
