Default do we qualify

I fell in love with Australia back in 2008 when I visited my cousin in Brisbane on holiday for 7 weeks . I am now 46 years old and my wife is 34 , We have owned our own property investment business for over 10 years with property assets worth over
800,000 UK pounds .
I would like to know if we would qualify for visa's and which type we should be asking for.
My concern would be firstly my age (46) and secondly would we have to sell our commercial properties which have good rental returns of 90,000 per annum ?.
What would be our best options ?.

You will not be able to claim any points of your age as you are 44 plus, what kind of job does your wife do?? I believe she should be the main applicant as she will be able to get atleast 5 - 10 points because of her age...

as far as financial planning goes, it entirely depends on your situation and your needs... you can continue earning your rental income despite living in Australia. you might have to dispose off your properties to show funds in your bank for the investor visa.. which I think can be done without even selling it. For instance, mortgaging them with the bank ... it entirely depends on your requirement..

Doesnt look like it I'm afraid. The business investor visa requires a business with an annual turnover of $500,000 plus assets of $800,000. The business needs to be transferable to Australia.

Do you or your wife have qualifications or an occupation?

Thank You chicku2006 ,
My wife is my business partner although she was a qualified hair dresser in her younger years but not her remaining career choice.
We would like to see how we feel about living there without the full risk of selling everything in the UK in case we have a change of heart and decide to return to the UK. Basically not looking for working visa more to enjoy life out there with the funds coming from our rentals back in the UK.
Then if we feel this is what we both love and want, then we would sell up our properties in the UK.
Would this be possible?.

Not really ready to retire, plenty of life in me to enjoy Australia.
Apparently to young for that visa anyway, Just afraid if it is not for my wife and we then decide to return to the UK , by selling everything we have and then having to re-start all over again.
If there was a way to stay there for a period of time say upto 1 to 3 years to see if it is what we both want without it effecting our existing Business assets but living off our income from the UK would be preffered.
I don't know whether you can get an extended tourist visa with this ?.

The standard retirement visa is no more. Only the investor retirement visa needs $750,000 to invest ie give to the government to invest and $65k yearly income. It isn't a permanent visa and you need to be 55 to apply.

Nope the longest tourist visa you will get is 12 months with 3 month max stays each time because you dont have children in Australia.
