Default Birth certificate not available

Hi

I'm born on 22nd Nov 1979 and in those days there was no birth certificate being used. I wanted to know if it is mandatory to get birth certificate for Visa application for Oz. My birth date is available on passport, school certificate. Will that be sufficient.

Kindly share your suggestions as to how to proceed.

Regards
Joyson

Hi Joyson,

if you apply for a points tested Skilled Migration visa DIAC requires some proof of your age to verify the points you claimed. According to Booklet 6 (p. 19) you can submit a birth certificate or passport, so you should be fine.

Cheers,
Monika
