Skill Assessment - ACS
 
pls help I have submitted 6 years of employer references in which for 5 years experience I have shown detailed job description but for 1 year which was my first job, I have provided only the job title with dates (not able to provide job description) do I need to provide any statutory declaration?

kindly suggest, in case i need to submit the statutory declaration, what is the format for same and can i send the declaration papers to ACS now as i have already sent my all papers a week ago?????

Hi,

Yes you will need to get some type of employer reference to confirm you did the job and what you did. Can you get someone from the company in a higher position than you to provide a stat dec? Not sure if a stat dec from yourself would be enough. Hopefully, another member will be able to clarify.

you can also attach any confirmation letter, promotion letter or the sorts from teh same company to prove your role in the company, many a times one can not manage enough references, for teh same you attach a stat dec along with the application.

Hi Dolly,

i am going to apply to the ACS for my skill assessment.Iam a computer proff specializing in oracle.I have over 4 years of experiance in oracle.in this period i have worked with 3 companies.my first 2 companies were in India...my 1st company has given the relieving in the format which ACS has specified..since my 2nd company cant provide the specific format releiving letter, they have given me a reference.now the 3rd company is in London,they are not ready to give the specific format releiving letter or even the reference letter...can anyone please let me know what the implications would be if i dont submit this reference for only my 3rd employer...as they are just diplomatically evading my request to issue a reference letter......as iam really nervous about my chances as it can make my case weak

Hoping for your reply....Please dont disappoint me folks

Hi Charan,

You don't need to panic........ in case you cannot provide the reference letter / experience letter in ACS required format....you can submit statutory declaration stating the reason for not providing the experience/reference letter enclosing jobs details, roles & responsibilites, projects, programming languages used (if any), promotions (if any), business cards of your colleagues, pay slips etc. for more information pls visit ACS (Australian Computer Society) - ICT Professionals Shaping our Future or Australian Computer Society - Frequently Asked Questions

Note: In case you cannot provide the business cards, you need to mention the reason for not providing the same in statutory declaration.

Thank you very much Mohit......its such a big relief!! However Mohit, i spoke to my consultant, she said that by doing this its a 50-50 chance of positive result from the ACS.......From my latest company i have all the documents like offer,relieving,payslips...!!

ACS still requires the recommendation letter from collegues with statutory declaration?? what would be the extent of impact if i submit only statutory declaration with out reference/recommendation?

Thats very true Charan...as its clearly stated on their guidelines......
"In this case you should provide a Statutory Declaration claiming the reasons why you cannot provide a reference and explaining in complete detail what you did in this position.

This must be supported by HR Style references, recommendations from colleagues (with business cards attached), job contracts, pay slips and other relevant information that demonstrates employment.

Please note the assessor is under no obligation to accept this and you submit this at your own risk. Please note there are heavy consequences for those who submit a fraudulent statutory declaration."

However, you keep your fingers crossed and collect as much as details you can before filing the application. All the best for your battle......

Note: you can also get the reference letter from your manager on company letter head with contact information...this would also suffice the purpose.

In this case if you cannot provide the reference letter from colleauges.......you need to clearly mention in statutory declaration the reasons for not providing the required information.....you need to be honest with them and then the ball will be in their court..............you can't do much in this case........hope for the best :)
