Cool Software Engineer in Previous company but now software Quality Engineer

Hi Folks,

I am new to forum and i want some help from the experts over here.

I was software engineer in my previous company and worked over there for about 2 years. But now i am into automation testing with designation as "Sr. Software Quality Engineer". Now i want to apply as a "Software Engineer" so i want to know what are my chances for the same.
As software engineer is in sol1

Moreover, i donot have ITRs and Salary slips of my previous company as i used to get money in cash. So what i can get from there is certificate mentioning that they have paid amount per month by cash and i worked for 2008 till 2010.

Please guide me.

Designation doesn't matter, there are applicants with different designation got assessed for different code during ACS, remember, it can't be a different code altogether from your designation.

Thanks, and i have read in some threads that now ACS deducts first 2 years of experience. I have done my bachelors in computer engineering and i am applying as "Software Engineer". So will they consider complete 5 year employment or just 3 years ?

Yes they are deducting experience like, 2 years if degree(s) is ICT major like CS, 4 years if degree(s) is ICT minor like non CS. I think in your case it will be 3 yrs of exp which you can count for points calculation after deducting 2 years.

So i will they be deducting first two years of my first company or current two years, i am still not sure about this?

I have 2 years of exp as Software Engineer (July 2008 to July 2010)
and have 3 Years of exp as "Software Quality Engineer" (July 2010 till date")

So in above mentioned experiences which will considered?

It should be the first one, if you show both.

Hi,

When you are going for ACS, ideally you will file the application with all the experience you have from diff companies, out of which they are deducting first 2 yrs of your experience from the overall years, in your case it is
"Software Engineer (July 2008 to July 2010)" since you have this as first 2 years, experience, and, with 2nd company the exp will retain as it is..

Consider 3 yrs with 2nd company and calculate your points, did you get 60? and if you are going for SE occupation, you have 2 routes, one is 189 and the 2nd one is 190 visa, the later one is a state sponsorship of which first 2yrs of your stay u have to be in that state.

Thanks for the detailed response, Yes i am getting 60 points if 3 years of my other company are considered.
as 30 of age, 15 Education, 10 IELTS, 5 ( If they consider my 3 year exp).

I am not sure which route i will choose as i am doing all this of my own and not hiring any consultant. but i have seen processing time of 190 SS is faster than 189.
