Default ACS work experience query

Hi everyone,

I am currently in SA. I completed BS in Software Engineering(offshore) and MS in IT(onshore). I am currently working in SA as a developer. I recently got to know that ACS deduces 1 year experience to meet suitability criteria.
In case, I do PY along with my job. Will PY be counted towards meeting suitability criteria or my relevant experience will be taken to meet suitability criteria?
Actually, Migration SA site mentions to have 1 year skilled work experience to be eligible for state nomination which I’m after. Can anyone answer so that I can make informed decisions about my other plans? Thanks

No, I don’t have experience in any organisation. However, I used to do freelance work at Upwork and I think they won’t count that.

I am not sure if you can claim for both PY and job simultaneously
Drop an email to ACS and ask for clarification

Cheers

Sharing for anyone who might have such scenario in future.
I got below reply from ACS.
“ Both the completed professional year program and 1 year of employment after the completion of the Australian degree, can be used to meet the suitability criteria.”

It doesnt reply to your question
The question was if you can claim both PY and employment points for the same time period simultaneously

Cheers

Well, below is the part of email that I sent and I mentioned, In case, I do PY ALONG WITH my job.

Will PY be counted towards meeting suitability criteria or my relevant experience will be taken to meet suitability criteria? In other words is it possible to claim both PY and work experience simultaneously?

I've read an article which refers to PAM. The conclusion is NO. The three months of PY internship will be deducted from your work experience by DHA. Maybe ACS won't, but finally it's DHA's job.

According to ACS, both PY and 1 year of employment can be used. So if PY is used to meet suitability criteria then 1 year of experience can be treated as skilled work experience.

Please share any source which says 3 months relevant work experience is deducted if someone doesn’t do placement.(maybe placement isn’t required or waved off)

Original question was that can both PY and work experience be counted to meet suitability criteria even if done together and conclusion is YES.
