Question Child visa subclass 101 vs 802? Pls help!

Hello dear community members,

Hope everyone is fine. Huge thanks and kudos to everyone for running this amazing forum and helping each other in need. This is a unique place to find help and give suggestions to those in need!

Me and my wife have a PR (SI 189 visa). I'm currently located in Sydney.
My wife delivered last year in India and is still in India with baby.

They plan to come here in September this year.

Which would be a better idea?

1. Apply for tourist visa first (in September) and then Onshore visa later
2. Apply for Offshore visa now and tourist visa later (If Offshore visa not approved by September)

Asking for your kind help and suggestions on this. Appreciate it a lot!

Thanks in advance!

I would suggest to apply for Visa 101 as seeing the trend most of the visas are allocated from 3-6 month. In worst case anyway you may have to apply for tourist visa.
