Default Sponsoring relative - 491

Hi All,

I have a question.

I want to sponsor my nephew under sub-class 491. As a sponsor, what documentation I need to provide? Is there any security deposit I should keep with the Government?

He submitted the EOI already and looks like Sponsor needs to do something if he gets an invitation.

Can anyone help me get more information? I appreciate your support.

Cheers,
Sridhar

Default Sponsoring relative - 491

I have a sister who is a permanent citizen in Australia and she is eligible to sponsor , can she sponsor me for the 491 regional visa base on her location. she resides in greater Brisbane. There seem to be some sponsoring constrain if your relative resides in some area in Australia.

You can find the regional post codes eligible for 491 here:
https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visa...onal-postcodes
The sponsoring relative needs to be staying in one of these for him/her to eligible to sponsor.

Hi

main requirements:

Applicant must have a successful skills assessment in Nominated Occupation which must be listed on the Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL). Also, Pro rata occupations are generally not invited unless the total number of 189 invites is low.

Be sponsored by an Eligible relative who is an Australian Citizen, Australian permanent resident or Eligible NZ Citizen, who usually resides in a Designated Regional Area.

Eligible Relative is defined as Ė a Parent, a Child or Step-Child, a sibling, Adopted Sibling or Step-Sibling, an Aunt or Uncle (Adopted or Step), a Nephew or Niece (Adopted or Step), a Grand-Parent or a 1st Cousin.

Score enough total points (with a bonus of 15 points for being sponsored) to get invited. Currently 75 + 15 = 90 and decreasing rapidly.

Regards

Tony

Does that mean a PR holder / citizen can sponsor his mother's brothers' daughter or son?
