Police check for Australian Citizenship
I have lived in Australia for 5 years and 1 year on Permanent Residency.
The website says this:
For Citizenship applications
All citizenship applicants are required to provide a penal clearance certificate or police check from each country visited, if:
they lived or travelled outside Australia since the age of 18 years or over; and
the total time spent outside Australia added up to 12 months or more; and
the time spent in any one country was more than 90 days; or
they are requested to do so by the Department.
Do I require an overseas police check or Australian Police check?
Afp check will be done by DHA directly
Any specific reason why I wont need any Police check? Just confirming.
I came to Australia when I was 23 but I was living in India since then.
So they are concerned only for the period after you got the PR
So as long as you have not travelled out of Australia for more then 1 year after getting the PR, no foreign PCC is required
Australia pcc, the department will take directly
