Default 189 Visa re-entry question

Hello Everyone,

I got 189 in April, 2015 and about to expire this year. I just entered AUS and stayed few days before I came to US. Now, I'm planning to go back to AUS. Is there any restriction or anything I need to do before I enter AUS again. I checked VEVO and my visa is active.

Also, what about If I do not return in time? Should I loose my PR or is there still a chance that I can get a resident return visa later?

Thanks,
Mainul

You need to do nothing as long as you enter before the last date

You may get a 3 month RRV depending on your luck
But chances are extremely low so assume that the pr is as good as cancelled if you are not on Australian soil when your travel rights expire

Cheers

Thanks NB for reply. If I return to AUS in time and apply for RRV, should I get RRV for 3 more months? How long I need to stay in AUS to be eligible to apply for RRV and any idea of RRV processing time?

You will be eligible to get a 5 year RRV only when you complete 2 years stay in Australia

Before that you can get 1 year or 3 months RRV depending on the ties you are able to show with Australia like family, properties and stable job etc

Cheers
