Default Engineers Australia Professional Registration

I've received a positive skills assessment from EA as Professional Engineer - Skill Level 1.

Am I automatically registered as a professional engineer to be qualified to work as an engineer in Australia or do I have to register separately?

According to the EA website, there's an annual membership fee and I have to maintain CPD.

I'm confused. Do I need to register?

Congrats on positive assessment.

Registration is a stage 2 and only if you want to do it. It is not mandatory and is not required for your EOI/visa application (if that's what you are asking).

However, registration for stage 2 will give you some perks in job market like, attaining Chartered status, connect with more professionals, event invitations from EA, etc., all this will indirectly increase your employment opportunities in your assessed field.

In addition to the other response, if you look at the requirements for the registration NER, you’d find you don’t need to do a whole lot anymore since you’ve already received positive MSA. And it won’t take a lot of time.

Thank you for your input. I'm aware that registration is not required for visa application. I'm more interested in future job prospects.

Should I register as a Fellow Professional Engineer (FIEAust ) or Member Professional Engineer (MIEAust)?

Or is membership is a pre-requisite to fellowship?

https://www.engineersaustralia.org.a...ssment-Process Take a look at that link. It states the requirements to join at the different membership levels.

It shows different pathways for assessment not different level of membership.

Thank you. According to the chart, a fellowship requires 15 years+ of working experience. I am only eligible for MIEAust.

It's a Singaporean degree under the accord system. Working experience is also in Singapore. Took around 6 weeks.
