Default Working for Indian Company while Living in Australia - to satisfy Visa conditions

Hi,

I wanted to check if I continue to work for my Indian employer after moving to Adelaide on 489 Visa (work from home) and stay there for 2 years to satisfy Visa condition too, would it also be counted as fulfilling the criteria for 489 Visa to 887 PR?
As I'll be in Australia, I will be paying taxes basis my earnings to the Australian government and may be converting my Indian bank account to an NRE account to ensure no tax payment is required in India per se.

Broadly, is it a requirement to work for an Australian registered company and get paid in AUD in an Australian bank account?

Cheers
Vb

If you can be paid by your Indian employer as a contractor and not as an employee, you may be able to meet the requirements of the 887
If so, consult a Mara agent and reconfirm

Cheers
