Default Can I get PCC from India?

Hi all,

I have submitted almost all documents for my PR apart from the Indian PCC. The issue is that I am constantly traveling due to my job and it is almost impossible to give my passport to VFS for a month while they get my PCC from India.

Currently, I am in India due to work and was wondering if I can get my PCC done from India. I am going to be in India for at least 3 weeks. I have been living in Australia for almost 5 years now. My Indian passport has my Indian address which is also my Indian residential address. However, because I lost my passport in Melbourne, the place of issue section says Melbourne. The address in the passport is still the same old Indian address.

Can I get my PCC done from India? I was hoping that maybe they can do it within a day. Or do I need to get it done through VFS?

Cheers,
Fictional

In my case, I booked an appointment on Wednesday for Thursday, went to the PSK with my passport copy (old and new ones both) and within a few hours got the PCC in my hands. The thing is that if the officers there see no point in actively doing a background check, they produce the PCC then and there. However, if they think they need to check, the PCC hardcopy will be mailed to the address in the passport.

If you're here, I'd suggest you to book an appointment today and go to your nearest PSK.
