Default Australia PR 189 points change

Hi all,

Post November 16, singles and skilled spouse applicants will get extra 10 points. I would like to know what will be the impact.

If I have 85 points post November 16, including skilled spouse points. Then what are my chances of getting an invite. (ANZCODE: 261312)

Thanks for your reply. But I read few comments in this forum that 189 visa will be dreamer. Is it so? Can I still put hope on this visa?

I am still unclear about how the new point system works.

Right now I am sitting at 75 points for 189 (ANZSCO Code 233311 - Electrical Engineer), EOI submitted on 31-08-2019.

I have not claimed spouse skill points yet, but have the option to do so as she worked as an Electronics Engineer in India for more than 2 years. We are in the process of submitting the CDRs to Engineers Australia which is expected to happen next month (she has an IELTS Academic score of 6+ in each band dated Dec 2018 and is currently a Masters student in Australia).

Providing a positive outcome from EA, what will be my new points after Nov 15?

I am presuming that her Anzsco code is in MLTSSL, so you will get 10 additional points under 189, so you will be bumped up to 85

Cheers

Yes, it is in MLTSSL.

So I guess that extra 15 points are out of the scenario, as I can claim for either skilled spouse (10 points) or English competency of spouse (5 points). Claiming both is not in the picture as of now.

Hi ,

I am new member with 75 points for 261313. I have below questions if any one can answer please.

1) I don't see any official immigration website mentioning the point systems change. Its only the few visa consulting websites with all the information.

Initially the talk was about only new 491 visa, Will 189/190 visa point system also change on Nov 16 or its just the new visa 491.

2) Even if it changes for 189/190, how will the points will be adjusted. Will it be automatic or all the candidates need to login and update the EOI manually. If its manual, then all the DOEs will be almost on the same date as everyone will rush to update immediately, which will be a problem.

If its Automatic then , how will be the DOEs preserved, as all DOEs should not be updated to Nov 16 by the system because of the points change, which will be again a problem.

1) Here's the original information, use the find in page function on ur browser to navigate through the filler https://www.legislation.gov.au/Detai...Statement/Text
It will affect 189/190 but you get extra points again for the regional state visas

2) Don't think they've clarified how this will work yet

You can read the legislation here

https://www.legislation.gov.au/Detai...Statement/Text

1. Points will change for 189/190 also
2. Wait for the clarification probably end October on how the points change will be implemented for existing EOI

Cheers
