I think they are probably gonna start at around 1000 invites to test the water and see how many pointers get invites and the quality of applicants. After that they will probably run a few months with 2500 invites

Also, I think 70 pointers now won't have a chance, even if they are single, after November

I don't think that is way of the mark. ISCAH with all their experience have themselves been predicting 1000 a month.

But with August being 100 and expectation being that it might stay that way until November, it seems only logical that invitations spike since December at least.

So the total of 8000-9000 invites this financial year have to be squeezed in between dec-may next year.

ISCAH's predictions always wrong. They predict DHA will resume 1000 from September but why they give only 100 in august ISCAH dnt know the reason for that. And for single points the confusing bit is how DHA will calculate date of effect for the eois in the system. They should have give a fair go for all eois. Some at 75 points waiting since 5 months if DHA will change doe then all would be equal after November and waiting time for many applicants will be useless.

Which occupation you have for 70 points as a single applicant.

I think the change would be advantageous for singles already having 75 points and above at the moment. Even though the number of applicants currently at 80 and 85 points are high, majority of them have a partner, who is not skilled or with good English. So when the point change happens, singles at 75 points now will beat most 80 pointers and will be on the same level as most 85 pointers. Only a very few people at 80 and 85 points will gain either 5 or 10 points.

That being said, the single applicant's won't have the said advantage unless DHA increases the number of invites post November round. If the invites still sit at low numbers, then people already in the system with 80 or 85 points will get the invites first.

Agree and its not only points matters but also ranking matters.
For example
Applicant A. 85 points single
B 85 points include skill partner
C 85 points with competent English
D 85 points neither skill nor competent English
A & B will get invite first based on the ranking according to legislation.
