Default 457(QLD) to 190(NSW) Subclass

Hi Guys,

I am working & living in Brisbane, Queensland on 457 Subclass. Recently, I applied for NSW 190 and 489 Subclass for Systems Administrators(262113) role with 80 & 85 points respectively. There is no additional criteria mentioned against this code(like onshore applicant should be residing in NSW for at least 1 year).

One friend of mine said, even though there is no additional criteria, they give preference to onshore applicant who have been staying in NSW. So, they will reject my application based on this ground. I am bit disappointed after hearing this as I waited for this job code for long. I will appreciate if someone can throw some light on this.

Nothing like that. Check their criteria on their website. It is true that for many common occupations, they are looking for 1 yr of experience in NSW. If NSW applies for the condition what your friend heard then no one from offshore/other states are eligible and no need for issuing 190/489 visa. Also it varies across occupations codes.
A lot of discussions is going in the air so don't reply on the information which is not coming from the authorised source.

How did you manage to submit the application for QLD while they have not published their occupation list? DO you mean, lodging the EOI?
DO you know what are documents required for the QLD pre-invite application?

Yes, i lodged the EOI for NSW as they opened it 2 days back. I am on 457 company sponsored temporary work permit in QLD and i have not lodged EOI for QLD as they are not accepting it at the moment.
