Default Working in Bridging Visa A

Hi Friends,

I am in a tough situation and looking for some ideas and help. Below is my situation.

Currently, I am working in a company in 457 visa valid till 2021. And I have lodged for my PR 190 visa and waiting for the grant and obtained Bridging visa A, which gets activated after the current visa expires (i.e 2021)

Due to organizational restructuring, my position has been made redundant and I have been given a notice time till September to look out jobs outside.

My questions:

1) By September, the Bridging visa will get activated or will it get canceled?

2) Is it possible to work using Bridging visa A or can i change jobs using Bridging Visa A?

Kindly help and guide me friends.

Thanks,
Sanjeev

1. The Bridging visa is useless for you if the 457 is being cancelled prematurely

The Bridging visa will also get cancelled simultaneously

You can try to get the 457 transferred to a new employer, or leave Australia and return once your PR is granted

Cheers

Your employer will inform DHA that you are no longer working for them and ask for cancellation of the 457 sponsored by them

So the moment the 457 gets cancelled, the Bridging Visa attached with it, also gets cancelled

Cheers
