But they could prove substantial ties to Australia

You can also try to get a RRV, but if it is rejected, then your PR is dead and you will have to apply afresh if you still wish to migrate in Australia

Cheers

Thanks for your reply NB .

So it means that if you get invite upto November round, you are SAFE from this change ?

Then we can see if there is any change in policy

Most likely there will be no major change in policy

They will only change your points if it benefits you.

In all honesty, I don't see how it would hurt anyone. For those of us without partners who are offshore. it will help us become equal with those with skilled partners. Instead of those EOIs being able to "cut the line" per se because they have an extra 5 points, we will both get 10 points and be on equal first status.

189 EOI Effective Date: 09/04/2019
190 VIC Effective Date: 19/05/2019

189 Points Breakdown: 25 (Age) + 20 (English) + 15 (employment) + 15 (education) + 10 (single) = 85
190 Points Breakdown: 25 (Age) + 20 (English) + 15 (employment) + 15 (education) + 5 (state sponsorship) + 10 (single) = 90
