Default IT Manager more experience as Engineer, which VISA job classification?

Hi Guys

I have 16 years experience as an IT engineer, and 3 years experience as an IT manager (same area)

I have lots of technical qualifications as an engineer, but they would have expired now. I don't have any management qualifications, only the experience. I have 2 options....

1. Apply for a 189 VISA under "Computer network and systems engineer 263111" Even though this is not what I do now, its where most of my experience is, and I still manage a team of engineers so not completely different.

2. Apply for a 190 VISA under "ICT managers (nec) 135199" which is what I do now, but have only 3 years experience and no qualifications.

I'm assuming option 1 is better? Would anyone question my current title vs the the chose VISA classification?

Thanks!

Don't worry too much, go with option 1, you should be fine. Once you have PR, you can work in any field with any title. The designation is not important when you submit for skills assessment, they only consider your roles and responsibilities. Just make sure, you RnR is aligned to the ANZSCO code you are applying for.
