Question Apply second ACS assessment for Software Engineer-Have valid Software tester assesmen

Hi All,

I have a query regarding getting ACS assessment done second time for a different ANZSCO code.

I have a +ve assessment done for Software tester which I got on Sept 2017. However, I want to re-apply as a Software Engineer. My roles and responsibilities include that of both these occupations. I am not planning to do link previous assessment with new one.

But in the first assessment statutory declaration, I have only highlighted my testing responsibilities. Now for the second application, if i include my other roles and resp apart from testing, will it pose a problem? I am in a time-bound critical situation here.

Please let me know the chance of +ve second assessment on a new ANZSCO code?? Any advice or suggestion would be really helpful.

Thanks in advance!
Cheers,
Archana

1. You would be flouting the ACS rules, if you do not link the previous assessment with the new one.
It is not advisable to do that
The consequences of the same can be serious in future which can even result in cancellation of your visa application and ban for 3 years

2. An drastic change in the RNR in the second SD will logically raise eyebrows
How the assessor will view it, calls for speculation

Only after you apply , will you come to know whether you will get a positive assessment or not as Software engineer

Moreover, even if you are assessed as positive by ACS, your troubles are not over.
When you apply for grant, will the CO not be suspicious when he sees that most of your designation in your career have been those as a tester ?
( I am presuming this)

Think this through logically before taking this decision

I get quite a few PMs on this subject and have this stock answer for them

Cheers

Thank you for the information. Actually I have been doing more development work in the past 1.5 years than initial years of my 3.6 years. Its been 50-50 on developing applications and testing the product.

I have included about the development work in my previous assessment but not in detail.
As I have been juggling between the two, I am in a fix now as to which code i will fit in. Thats the problem.

Hi Archana,

I think you can reapply provided your job responsibilities match the new job code you are applying. Good luck. Please let me know your situation as I am also applying for PR (software tester by profession)
