Default Need Help - Employment with a small contractor

Hi Guys,

One of my friend is going for a skill assessment with VETASSESS. He had an experience of a Graphic Designer but his employer is just a small contractor not any registered organization / company. He is using this experience just for the sake of positive skill assessment since its a requirement for a Graphic Designer occupation to at least have 1 year post graduation experience. He is having a total of around 1.5 years experience with this employer.

Although he won't be using this experience to claim any points because he would be a secondary applicant since his wife is the main one. But surely he would be using this assessment to claim partner points.

The concern for him is, will their be any problem in the future visa application if DIBP goes for verification of this employment? Since its just a small contractor, DIBP might not consider this as a valid experience used to get a positive skill assessment?

PS. He is having all the employment related docs like payslips, joining letter, relieving letter etc. He was paid in cash so no bank statements and no ITRs.

Has anyone faced any such issue? Or do anyone has any knowledge on this? Has anyone claimed any experience with such type of employers and found no issue?

Your help would be much appreciated guys.

Seeking advice.

Thanks.

As he is not main applicant, DIBP will not verify his work experience. Its not required.
For him they should upload:
ID, degree, assessment certificate, IELTS certificate.
That's all. Nothing to worry about.

Thanks for your help.
Though you have got paid in cash, just get a letter from the employer saying you were paid XXXX amount between period month/year to month/year on their letterhead, with your designation etc mentioned. Just a precautionary measure.

Did your assessing authority require you to submit any work experience that they deducted while granting you the positive skill assessment? And did that experience verified by DIBP?

I don't remember was it mandatory or no to assess my work experience but I applied for it. They deducted 5 years as non relevant.
DIBP did not verify it as work experience is not required for dependant. Only qualification assessment is required. While applying for visa we did not submit any documents regarding my work experience.
To claim points for my skils we have submitted my degree, assessment and ielts certificates only.

Great! Thats means CO even don't ask for any document regarding work experience that VETASSESS deducted while awarding positive skill assessment.
