Default help with 189 visa application

Hello to all,

I started to fill out visa application form for 189, on the employment history there was a question:

Have you been employed in Australia on a skilled occupation close to your nominated skilled occupation?

My answer was: YES

Next question was: How many years?

I've only been employed here for 10 months, the least among the choices was 1 year in the last 10 years.

Another question: on my employment history it was ask date from:___ and date to:___

The thing is i'm still continuously working on my employer and the application keeps sending me ERROR as end date is required..

I had to stop and save the application, i was www.confused.com.au on this matter..

what shall i do?

thanks for all the input

Unfortunately they dont have option to enter text "Till date" option. So I entered the "to date" as the date of my visa submision,it did work for me.

Hi lazybones1978,

Australian employment:
I just checked Migration Booklet 6 (page 22) and the SkillSelect page again. The problem is a subtle one. You do not receive points for your Australian work experience if it amounts to less than a year but I think you don't want them to think that you were unemployed during the last 10 months. It would be easier if DIAC provided an additional option in the form (Australian work experience - YES, but less than a year, so 0 points), but it can't be helped. I would tick NO since I assume that you did not include those 10 months in your EOI points calculation and therefore it is not relevant for your visa process. You can add it as "not relevant" experience if you want.

Employment history: I had the same issue with the TO date since my contract is ongoing. I think the best solution is to insert the current date or "to date" if you are still employed at your company.

I´ve been in the same situation. My total work experience is less than 3 years, so when trying to fill the application, I just checked NO on that questions. I guess it´s the right thing to do, otherwise you would be claiming points for something you don´t have.

Cheers!

You can do your medicals as well as apply for PCC before CO asking for it.
