Default ACS Experience Calculation

Dears, please let me know the calculation of experience by ACS.

Employer 1 - 10-Sep-2012 to 18-Nov-2014
Employer 2 - 24-Nov-2014 to Till Date(09-Oct-2017)

And, also let me know when can I submit to ACS for assessment to get a result for 3 yrs experience (after deduction of 2yrs by ACS) - so that I can claim 5 points?

Appreciate any additional inputs and suggestions.

you may have gone through this document, but i am posting it once again here for your ready reference

page 3/19 - ACS Skill Assessment Guideline

Bachelor Degree or Higher with an ICT Major
 If your degree is assessed as having an ICT major which is closely related to your nominated occupation, you will require 2 years relevant work experience completed within the past 10 years or 4 years relevant work experience completed anytime in your past work history (whichever provides the earliest skill date) to meet the suitability criteria.
 If your degree is assessed as having an ICT major which is NOT closely related to your nominated occupation, you will require 4 years relevant work experience completed anytime in your past work history to meet the suitability criteria.

Bachelor Degree or Higher with an ICT Minor

 If your degree is assessed as having an ICT minor which is closely related to your nominated occupation, you will require 5 years relevant work experience completed in the past 10 years or 6 years relevant work experience completed anytime in your past work history (whichever provides the earliest skill date) to meet the suitability criteria.
 If your degree is assessed as having an ICT minor which is NOT closely related to your nominated occupation, you will require 6 years relevant work experience completed anytime in your past work history to meet the suitability criteria.

the subjects studied by you in Bachelor degree will decide the skill level met date, experience post that date will be considered relevant.

if your subjects match that of an ICT major then period 10/09/12 to 09/09/14 will not be relevant and experience post that will be considered relevant, that implies your 3 years relevant experience will be from 10/09/14 to 09/09/17,

you can go for skill assessment today also if yours is an ICT major

Mate, thank you for the quick turn around. Its my mistake of not providing the details of my bachelor degree.

So, here is it.

I have a B.Tech in Information Technology and both the employment are in IT.
So, I believe mine is ICT major and ACS will deduct 2 yrs.

My main concern is on these points -
1. Only month and year will be counted for employment duration, not individual days
2. If experience is current, the “To Date” will be taken from the date the reference was written. Employment dates can only be calculated until the date of submission.

yes, ACS will take the reference letter date as "TO DATE"

however, at later stage while submitting you can claim points for experience if you are working in the same company, same role as on the date of ACS skill assessment

Thanks again. So, even I go for ACS assessment today and get an experience of 2yrs and 10 months(just for example), I can go ahead and submit an EOI by January and still claim 5 points for 3 yrs experience if I stay in the same company and same designation? Is this correct?

yes,

just to note - keep end date as blank for current employment, eoi will update automatically when you reach the 3yr relevant experience

Default ACS Experience Calculation

Dear Team,
I have got a query on claiming points for Australia experience and overseas experience.
I have moved to Australia and working here from 27 April 2017, In between I have gone to India and worked there for 2 months, However I was still getting Australia pay only. Could you please let me know if I can claim this 2 months as overseas experience?

Detailed Background:
Total Work Experience: I have total of 11 years and 4 months of experience in IT.
Education: I have done Bachelor of Engineer in Electronics and Communication (which is a ICT major and is NOT closely related to your nominated occupation), So I believe first 4 years of work experience will not be considered for calculating the points for work experience.
Relevant Experience for points: I have 4 years and 10 months of overseas experience and 2 years and 6 months of Australia experience (after the initial deduction of 4 years as mentioned above).
Query: Since I am running shot of 2 months to get 5 years of overseas experience, I want to check if I can show the 2 months of me working in India while I was still deputed to work in Australia and I have been getting pay and payslip in Australia.

The 2 months fall in the no mans land sort of situation

Don’t claim in either of the countries, if you want to avoid a problem

Even if you consult a Mara agent, I am sure they will have a divided opinion on which country you can claim legally

Cheers

Thank you for your response. But in that case I will loose points both at overseas and Australia. :-(

The choice is yours

Points or controversy
Take a paid Consultation with some reputable Mara agent based in Australia specifically on this point and see what he advises

Cheers
