Default MLTSSL v/s STSOL list type - 189 v/s 190 visa

Hello Folks,
Hope you're all doing well!

Me and my wife are planning to migrate to Australia. We plan to apply for PR visa hopefully by this year. As I'm a primary applicant here's my situation:

- I've given my PTE in June with overall 79, but not in all sections. That equates to 10 points.
- I'm preparing to give my docs for skills assessment. My profession is that of a Business Analyst not 'IT Business systems analyst' and my roles and responsibilities match the occupation - Management Consultant (224711). According to Immigration website, VETASSESS does the skill assessment.

Here are some of my questions -
- Do you guys know how long does VETASSESS take to give a positive assessment?
- Although it's not clear in the immigration website, my occupation is tagged as STSOL. Should I go for 189 visa or the 190 visa?
- Could you please share your experiences applying for a PR visa as a Management Consultant?

Much appreciated!

Thanks,
Abhi

224711 means, you can't apply for 189 but only for 190 and 489 only.

Are you claiming spouse points from your wife cos your occupation is an uncertainty and if your wife can get assessed depending on her occupation, she can have a better chance than you as primary applicant if it is in MLTSSL.

Thanks zaback21!
I had that feeling, Yes I'll be claiming points for my wife's skills. She works as a Senior Systems Engineer (Mainframe technologies), i think she has a better chance for 189.

If she can get 2613 or 2631 or 262112, which are all in MLTSSL, she will need 65 points and 70 will get her invite very quick. She won't get 5 spouse points in 189 since your occupation doesn't qualify in 189 but for 190 and 489 only.

Default 190 STSOL and 189 MLTSSL

Dear Applicants,

Please help me with this query,

Please clarify for me this important matter related to MLTSSL and STSOL occupations.
I am planning to apply as an Accountant (221111 MLTSSL) and claim 5 points for my wife, however, her occupation is 225311 Public Relations Professional under STSOL.
My concern is, can I able to apply for NSW 190 myself as 221111 Accountant (under MLTSSL) and include my spouse occupation 225311 (under STSOL) to claim the 5 points?
Any valuable advice higher appreciated.
Thank you in advance,

To claim points for spouse , your wife need to have -
1. Positive skill assessment
2. IELTS 6 in each band
3. Age maximum 45 yr.
