Smile To claim Partner Skills 5 pts - Is Points Test Advise good enough?

Hello. I need help pls.

I need to get extra 5 points thru Partner Skills. I know about the condition to meet like my partner should be: (1) younger than 50yo, (2) competent in English; and (3) suitable/positive skills assessments.

My question is about skills assessment of spouse.

Applying thru CSOL, I, the main applicant, is claiming Systems Analyst and my spouse is claiming Statistician. Both occupations are in CSOL and we plan to apply for Visa 190.

I know spouse's skills and education needs to get assessed by VETASSESS. But, does she need to apply "Full Assessment" or is "Points Test Advice" good enough?

Difference in cost and processing time are significant so we want to do "Points Test Advice" only so less expensive and quicker result. We are only aiming for suitable or positive skills assessment to get 5 pts.

My spouse is under 50yo, competent in English since we are US Citizen for 20 yrs (but we will still take TOEFL), and has over 15yrs of work related experience in the US.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Can't help you anything, but take the PTE. You will ace it. TOEFL requires a lot of study unlike PTE.

Thanks! I will keep this in mind.

My question is for SKILLS ASSESSMENT. Could my spouse just do the POINTS TEST ADVISE only and not do FULLS SKILLS ASSESSMENT?

Because the full assessment is more expensive and takes longer to process. We only need to have my spouse assessed and get suitable results.

Thanks!!!!

The POINTS TEST ADVISE is not a skills assessment.

To claim the 5 points, your partner must has been assessed by the relevant assessing authority as having suitable skills for the nominated occupation.

For Spouse assessment, if you want to claim 5 points then spouse must have English score IELTS 6 band in each its mandatory.

Got it. Thanks!

Yes, we are preparing docs for VETASSESS assessment of my spouse education and skills - for the purpose of PARTNER SKILLS.

I was just wondering if we have to do the FULL ASSESSMENTS or if POINTS ADVISE TEST would be sufficient enough for mere PARTNER SKILLS points.

So what is POINTS ADVISE TEST?

Thanks so much again!!!

Yes, thanks. We are taking tests so we can get points.

We are not doing IELTS. Both me and my spouse will be taking TOEFL in two weeks. I was told too that PTE may be easier to achieve since we are US Citizen and have been living and working in the US for 20 yrs. If we don't get SUPERIOR English points, we may try taking PTE. I hope we don't have too.

Thanks again!!!
