Default 189 Point Test under Qualifications

Hi friends,

need one urgent guidance regarding 189 points test under Computer Network & Sys engineer. I have ACS accessed Bachelor degree in ICT Major and Diploma accessed to ICT Major.

Here is the verdict with Degree in Computer Science Engg . separately

Your Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Board of Technical Education
completed June 2002 has been assessed as comparable to an AQF Diploma with a major in
computing.

I understand they have rule of taking one of highest degree. but Diploma is an independent qualification in comparison to Bachelor > Masters. and ACS has related it to nominated skill in Major additionally.

i will definitely get 15 points for ICT Major degree however can i claim 10 more points which are under section qualification on the table along with Degree.

Any other qualification
You can receive 10 points for any other qualification or award which is recognized as suitable for your nominated occupation in your skills assessment by the relevant assessing authority.

Please guide.

Please guide.

Points awarded for highest level qualification only. For example, if an applicant presents evidence of having attained a doctoral qualification and a bachelor level qualification, the DIBP first considers the doctorate for the purpose of awarding points. If eligible for points for the doctorate qualification, the applicant will not be able to also claim points for another educational qualification.

Spot on! You can claim points for your degree, and not for your diploma.
DIBP will consider the lower qualifications only as a pre-requisite for a higher qualification, but not consider points for the lower one. For example:

If you have a PhD, DIBP will check to see if you fulfilled the prerequisites, such as a Masters or Bachelors. The points would apply for the PhD only.
