It is responsible for most of the population growth in the European Union.  The estimated birth rate as of 2000 is 12.73 births in every 1,000 of the population. Infant mortality at the other hand is 4 deaths per 1,000 live births, which is relatively lower than other developed countries.

Important demographic data that represents quality of health care include life expectancy and death rate. Life expectancy is one of the highest among OECD countries estimated at 77.68 years for males and almost 84.23 years for females. It was the highest achieved life expectancy rate in the world for those born in the year 2000. Death rate on the other hand is 4.2 per 1000 live births. [click to continue…]
